Dementia UK’s ‘Time for a Cuppa’ takes place between 1st – 8th March every year and was set up so that people could make ‘Time for a Cuppa’ with family, friends, neighbours and colleagues whilst helping to raise money to provide more Admiral Nurses for people facing dementia. On the 3rd March Brandon Park hosted its own ‘Time for a Cuppa’ coffee afternoon to raise money for Dementia UK. Residents were hard at work in the morning activity session baking and decorating cakes for sale at the afternoon tea party. Staff also got involved in the baking cakes with Jan’s famous lemon drizzle cake being snatched up before the sale even opened. The afternoon was a great success with residents joined by family, friends and staff for a cup of tea, piece of cake and a chat in the entrance hall. The afternoon raised £164!

The Comforting Magic of Animals in Dementia Care
At Stow Healthcare, we see every day how meaningful connection, familiar routines and moments of comfort can make a real difference to those living with dementia. One beautiful example of this is the special bond many of our residents share with animals. Across our homes, animals play a much-loved role in daily life.
