A New Way to Explore Our Communities; the Stow Healthcare Minibus

We’re delighted to announce that our wonderful new addition to life at Stow Healthcare, our very own branded minibus, has had its first joint home outing!

Designed in our company colours and proudly displaying our logo, the minibus is more than just transport; it’s a fantastic opportunity for residents to stay connected, explore their local communities, and enjoy meaningful experiences beyond the home.

"We thought it was a lovely smooth drive and we're looking forward to many more days out!" - Pam and Tony

Based at Halstead and initially supporting our southern homes, the minibus is already opening up new possibilities. From trips to local cinemas, cafés and museums, to future outings to parks and the coast, residents can now enjoy even more of what their communities have to offer.

"Having the facility to go out on the mini bus is a great asset. I look forward to more outings in the future." - Ursula

Our first outing brought residents from Halstead Hall and Weavers Grange together for a shared visit to the local Halstead Dementia Cinema – a much-loved activity that can now be enjoyed by even more people. These joint trips not only make outings more accessible, but also create opportunities for residents across our homes to meet, connect and build new friendships.

"It will be very nice to visit other homes and meet new people. Terry also did a great job driving it!" - Olive

Importantly, the minibus is equipped to accommodate wheelchair, frame users and those who may struggle with steps or confidence walking, meaning residents who may previously have found it difficult to attend outings can now take part with ease. It’s a small change that will make a big difference to inclusivity and independence.

Our activities teams are already full of ideas, and we’re excited to see how the minibus will support even more shared experiences, events and adventures in the months ahead.

And if you happen to spot our minibus out and about, be sure to give us a wave!
