The benefits of children and the elderly having the opportunity to send time together are currently a hot topic in the media. We have been embracing the opportunity to get to know some new friends and there is no better time than the festive season. We have had a number of visits from local schools, musical groups and choirs to spread some festive cheer. We loved our performance from our work experience student Poppy who gave a trumpet performance in the lounge for everyone to enjoy. This year, Melford Court even had its very own post box which was made by Santa’s elves with a little help from our maintenance man Peter!

The Comforting Magic of Animals in Dementia Care
At Stow Healthcare, we see every day how meaningful connection, familiar routines and moments of comfort can make a real difference to those living with dementia. One beautiful example of this is the special bond many of our residents share with animals. Across our homes, animals play a much-loved role in daily life.
