As part of our focus on Human Rights to coincide with International Human Rights Day on the 10th December, residents at Melford Court were supported to cast their vote as part of Stow Healthcare’s company-wide ‘Your Vote Matters’ Project.
In the run-up to the General Election, staff supported residents to exercise their right to vote. Details of the candidates for the seat of South Suffolk were displayed in the home to ensure residents had all of the necessary information before casting their vote on election day. The activities staff and home administrators helped residents apply for a postal vote. On election day 5 residents attended the polling station to cast their vote in person. The project was well received by residents who really enjoyed the experience and were grateful for the support they received from staff at the home!- Well done to everyone who took part.
