A Wonderful Celebration as Stowlangtoft Hall’s Orangery Reopens

Stowlangtoft Hall was filled with celebration this week as residents, relatives, staff and guests came together to mark the official reopening of our beautiful Orangery.

Residents have been eagerly anticipating the Orangery's reopening after major refurbishments including a new roof, refreshed paint job and new plantlife.

The much-loved space has been carefully restored so that residents and their families can once again enjoy its light, bright surroundings throughout the year. Overlooking the stunning grounds of Stowlangtoft Hall, the Orangery has long been a special part of life at the home, offering a peaceful place to relax, spend time with loved ones and enjoy the changing seasons.

The relaunch was made even more special as Maisie, our longest-standing resident, had the honour of cutting the ribbon and officially reopening the space. It was a lovely moment and a fitting way to celebrate the return of such an important part of the home.

Guests enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of music, refreshments and celebration. A vintage singing duo, kindly sponsored by Procurement for Care, brought a fantastic atmosphere to the event and perfectly complemented the occasion. Their performance was especially meaningful given Stowlangtoft Hall’s own history, as the Hall was used to shelter child war refugees during the Second World War.

Our in-house chefs prepared a delicious selection of teas and cakes for everyone to enjoy, while our new tea supplier, Tea From The Manor, joined us with a refreshing iced tea stand. It was a lovely opportunity for residents, families and guests to sample some of the wonderful flavours that will now be enjoyed across our homes.

We were also delighted to welcome Blueleaf, our new suppliers, who kindly provided a free herb garden with pots for guests to take away. They have also generously donated a real orange tree to the Orangery, a beautiful and fitting addition to the newly reopened space.

The event was a true team effort, and we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the staff who helped make the day so special, as well as everyone who has played a part in restoring the Orangery for our residents and their families to enjoy.

We would also like to thank our residents, relatives and guests for joining us and showing their support. It was wonderful to see the Orangery once again filled with music, laughter, conversation and friendship.

Now that the Orangery is open once again, we look forward to many more happy moments being shared there in the months and years to come.
