Partnership Working with the Fire Service

As part of September’s Fire Awareness week, we have been championing fire safety in conjunction with Suffolk Fire and Rescue teams from Ixworth and Elmswell, who have conducted a simulated evacuation exercise from Stowlangtoft Hall.

The exercise involved two fire engines and crews and a dozen staff from Stowlangtoft Hall who took the simulated roles of casualties with evacuations taking place from several areas of the building. To be able to conduct this kind of exercise at our home has been an amazing experience for staff. They have been able to see at first-hand what a fire rescue operation could look like, which will be invaluable should they ever be in an emergency situation. We look forward to welcoming them back for further collaborative training.
