The benefits of children and the elderly having the opportunity to send time together are currently a hot topic in the media. We have been embracing the opportunity to get to know some new friends with children from the local nursery ‘Tranquinas Childcare’ visiting residents at the home on a weekly basis. Every Wednesday, Ford Place opens its doors to around 10 children from the group who thoroughly enjoy laughing, playing and getting to know our residents. We love welcoming this young community group into the home!

The Comforting Magic of Animals in Dementia Care
At Stow Healthcare, we see every day how meaningful connection, familiar routines and moments of comfort can make a real difference to those living with dementia. One beautiful example of this is the special bond many of our residents share with animals. Across our homes, animals play a much-loved role in daily life.
