As part of Parkinson’s Awareness Month, one of our residents hosted an event to raise awareness about the disease and living with it. Alan Bateman’s excellent seminar helped raise awareness among staff, visitors and fellow residents. There was great feedback about the session with comments about the interesting facts and personal anecdotes that made the talk memorable and informative. At Stow Healthcare, we see every day how meaningful connection, familiar routines and moments of comfort can make a real difference to those living with dementia. One beautiful example of this is the special bond many of our residents share with animals. Across our homes, animals play a much-loved role in daily life.
