Local Care Group named National Champions

Bury St Edmunds based Stow Healthcare Group has been bringing honours back to Suffolk again with a clutch of awards from national care competitions.

Named as Care Group of the Year at not just one, but two national ceremonies, the local care provider, known for its impressive turnaround work on care homes across the region, caught the judges eye again, having had a notable run of success in recent years.

The company took to the stage at both the National Care Awards and the Caring UK Awards where they saw off significant competition to take the coveted trophy.

Caring UK judges said of Stow Healthcare: “The winning care group is an innovator who has not stood still at all during the pandemic. It has a reputation as a disruptor in the industry, acquiring homes with the most difficult history and poorest rating and driving them forward to CQC outstanding rating home. They simply aim to be the best quality care providers in East Anglia.”

The company’s success wasn’t just limited to these trophies though.  National- level accolades went to Gina Galloway, Head Housekeeper of Ford Place Nursing Home, Thetford; Maureen Tilbrook, who has recently retired as a nurse at Stowlangtoft Hall, Bury St Edmunds and won the Outstanding Achievement award; Heather Choat, Home Manager of Halstead Hall, Halstead, who was recognised not only for her achievements as a manager, but also collected an award on behalf of her team, recognising their expertise in dementia care.

Director Ruth French noted: “This has been a hugely successful period for the company.  To have so many staff reach finals, let alone win national awards has been remarkable.  To receive these awards is such a morale boost for our staff, the fabulous residents we support, and the communities in which we live.  It leaves us excited for what we can achieve in 2022!”
