This International Nurses Day, Stow Healthcare is proud to celebrate the dedication, resilience and achievements of its extraordinary nurses, including Ford Place in Thetford’s Deputy Manager, Jenna Bowley, who has recently completed her Adult Nursing Degree through the University of Suffolk while working full-time.
Jenna’s journey with Stow Healthcare began in December 2003, when she joined Ford Place as a Carer. Over the years, her dedication, compassion and determination have seen her progress through several roles, including Senior Carer and CHAP, before becoming Deputy Manager.
Always career-driven and eager to learn, Jenna showed clear potential from the beginning. Her commitment was recognised by Stow Healthcare, who supported and encouraged her to pursue further education while continuing to work within the home.
Jenna first completed her Nursing Associate Apprenticeship, a two-year course which she passed with a distinction. She then went on to study for her Adult Nursing Degree, also over two years, and is on track to achieve another distinction.
Balancing work, learning, placements and family life was no small task. As a wife, mum to two children and owner of three dogs, Jenna has shown incredible determination throughout her studies. Stow Healthcare supported her by allowing her to continue earning her annual wage while completing her placements, helping her to build her skills while remaining part of the Ford Place team.
Reflecting on her achievement, Jenna said: “If you want something in life, you’ve got to work for it.”
She also shared that the achievement still feels surreal, adding that it “hasn’t sunk in” that she has reached this milestone.
It has been an absolute privilege to support and witness Jenna’s growth and professional development. Her dedication, resilience, and hard work throughout her training have truly paid off. I am incredibly proud of her achievement and delighted to welcome Jenna as one of our nurses and a valued member of our fantastic Stow team. This is a well‑deserved milestone.
