Care Quality Commission rates Melford Court as ‘Good’

We are delighted to report that Melford Court has been rated ‘as good overall and also good in all five categories by CQC following an unannounced inspection in May. The inspectors said in their report: “The registered manager worked effectively in partnership with a number of other health and social care organisations to achieve better outcomes for people and to enhance quality of care. We also saw that the entire staff team worked cohesively together.” They also noted that they: “found a welcoming, open and uplifting culture at the home.”

We are hugely proud of what all of our staff have achieved at Melford Court since we took ownership of the home just 18 months ago. Especially, given that the home was previously rated as ‘Requires Improvement’ overall, and inadequate for care, prior to our acquisition. The staff and management at the home have made dramatic improvements since Stow Healthcare took ownership and we look forward to improving our care offering further still in the future.”

The success was celebrated on the 5th September with a celebratory reception attended by residents, relative, staff and local professionals, all of whom have been part of the home’s journey. The evening was a great opportunity for everyone to come together and reflect on everyone’s hard work what a great home Melford Court is!
