Royal Celebrations at Melford Court

On the 20th April, we took party in National Care Home Open Day and celebrated the Queen’s birthday with games in the garden at Melford Court.  To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday residents at Melford Court planted a cherry tree in the garden to mark the occasion.  Residents helped chose the location and helped manager Fiona to plant the tree in the garden. We have added a brass plaque too!

In May, the celebrations continued with a British style street party in the garden after watching Harry and Meghan say ‘I do’. We enjoyed an afternoon in the glorious sunshine with a full afternoon tea complete with a special royal wedding cake prepared by the kitchen team. Everyone enjoyed watching the ceremony on the big screen and sharing memories of past weddings together.
