Safe Visiting

Safe Visiting During COVID-19 Pandemic

The safety of your loved ones is our top priority.

Stow Healthcare is delighted to be welcoming visitors into our homes in accordance with the latest government guidance.

We can support each resident to have five constant, named visitors for 30 min pre-booked visits inside homes where the home is out of Covid outbreak and the visitors return a negative COVID test performed either on-site, or that day (we are required to see proof of result via email/text from NHS) and where required PPE is worn. We will also offer visits in our Covid-safe visiting screened visiting areas, which may include gardens as the weather improves.  There may be scope for longer visits where this will not impact on visits being made to other residents in the home.  Up to two named visitors may attend at one time.  The government guidance sets out further detail for visitors.

Additional visitors at any one time may be able to attend for screened visits, in addition to the five named close contact visitors.  Please note, it may not be possible to offer a resident more than one visiting opportunity a week, although where there is capacity, we will be glad to help you.

Visits for Children – From Monday 12th April government guidance has permitted children to visit our homes. Any visits involving children should be carefully considered by the family, with advice sought from the home manager where necessary. Children aged 11 and over should wear the same PPE as adult visitors. Children under the age of 3 should not wear masks, for safety reasons. Babies and preschool children will not be included in the visitor numbers.  There should be no close physical contact between babies or young children and the residents they are visiting.  We would ask any visitors to carefully consider whether the visiting environment will work for a child, as movement in the visiting area will be limited and may not be suitable for children who are mobile.

Well behaved pets on a lead may attend the homes.

Visits out of the homes may also be made by residents.  Further detail can be found by accessing the government guidance.

We will continue to review these processes again in the coming weeks, in line with government guidance.

You can find detailed information about visiting processes by reading our Visitors Protocol.
